TERMS OF USE

Short terms, because there is little to agree on.

The app is free, works offline and collects nothing about you, so there is not much to settle. Here is the part that matters: what you may do with the app, how the Pro purchase works, and what the app does not promise.

Last updated 9 September 2026Applies to Cardfold 1.1 for Android

01

Who you are dealing with

Cardfold is written and looked after by one developer, not a company. It is distributed through Google Play, and the store's rules apply alongside these terms: where Google says one thing and we say another, Google wins on purchases and refunds. The address at the bottom of this page reaches the developer directly.

02

What you may do with the app

Install it on your devices and use it as much as you like, personally or for work. The limits are the ones common sense would set:

  • Fine keeping any cards of your own, making backups, moving them between phones, showing the app to anyone

  • Not fine taking the build apart to get around the free limit, or republishing copies of it under your own name

  • It is not a bank the app shows the code from a loyalty card and does nothing with money; there is no reason to put a payment card into it

03

Your cards stay yours

We receive neither cards nor backups: everything sits on the phone, and there is no server of ours to collect it. These terms give us no rights over your data, because we hold none of it. The details are in the privacy policy.

04

Buying Cardfold Pro

Pro is a one-time in-app purchase, not a subscription: one charge, nothing to renew and nothing to cancel.

  • What it lifts the limit of five cards and three categories of your own. Every feature of the app is free before the purchase too

  • Who sells it Google Play takes the payment. All the app learns from the store is whether the purchase exists

  • Where it lives the purchase belongs to the Google account that paid, and is restored on another phone under that same account

05

Refunds

Refunds are handled by Google Play. In the first 48 hours one is issued in the store itself, with no explanation needed and no involvement from us. Later, still through Google, on request — write to us and we will confirm it from our side. We never hold the money, so we cannot return it directly; we can only ask the store for it alongside you.

06

What the app does not promise

It draws a code and puts it on screen; that is where its power ends:

  • That the code will be accepted the till scanner, scratched glass, a matte protector and the shop's own rules are not ours to control. The number is always printed under the code so it can be read out

  • That a card cannot be lost a phone can be lost or wiped. The only insurance is a backup you make yourself

  • That a card will work forever a loyalty scheme is closed by the shop, not by us

  • That updates will keep coming the app is made by one person; new versions and support for future Android releases are not guaranteed by anyone

Formally: the app is provided as is, without a warranty of fitness for a particular purpose.

07

Liability

Our liability for the app is bounded by what was paid for it: if a fault of ours costs you the Pro purchase, the money comes back. We are not liable for a discount refused at the till, for points you lost, or for data that turned out not to be in a backup. Nothing here removes the rights consumer law gives you in your own country.

08

If you leave

Uninstall the app, and that is all of it. Cards, covers and settings go with it, and there is no account to close. The Pro purchase stays with your Google account and comes back if you install the app again.

09

Changes to these terms

If the terms change, the date at the top of the page changes with them, and anything substantial goes into the release notes on Google Play. Continuing to use the app after that means accepting the new version; if it does not suit you, the app uninstalls in one tap.
